The Travels of SAM: Freedom

Its been a while since I returned home from the first trip with SAM.  It was quite a long haul starting in Reading, Pennsylvania down 95 South encompassing the outer rim of Florida and back.  SAM traveled from Miami to Captiva around to Naples, across Alligator Alley back to Palm City and north to Palm Coast.  It was a beautiful trip driving up A1A stopping in Ft Lauderdale and many beach towns in between.  Then back to home by way of Hatteras, NC, on the Oacracoke ferry and down to Emerald Isle finally looping back to the North.  Looking back now, I can't believe I made it that far...almost 4,000 miles.  Good grief!  That's a long way to take a doughnut truck with 300,000 miles on it.  But I have to say, SAM ran like a top and performed like a champ.  There were a couple snags but nothing of substance to mention.  The most important memory of the trip was the freedom.  The ability to earn a living while visiting beautiful places and spending time with people dear to my heart.  Now, that I've been home in my house for a while, I appreciate more what that means to me.  I never had the spirit for a 9-5 suburban lifestyle...a regular job with a steady paycheck.  That's just not me.  I like to travel alone in my SAM in the peacefulness of my surroundings and the comfort of my thoughts.
